Gaslighting has a few definitions. In my upcoming book I will be talking about gaslighting extensively and exhaustively as multiple family members and friends were manipulated by gaslighting.

Gaslighting is a form of psychological manipulation in which a person or a group covertly sows seeds of doubt in a targeted individual or group, making them question their own memory, perception, or judgment. It may evoke changes in them such as cognitive dissonance or low self-esteem, rendering the victim additionally dependent on the gaslighter for emotional support and validation. Using denial, misdirection, contradiction and misinformation, gaslighting involves attempts to destabilize the victim and delegitimize the victim’s beliefs. Gaslighting-Wikipedia

The unbelievable extent to which the person in my own story went to gaslight my family, friends, and relatives still has repercussions to this day. The trauma to which myself and my family members suffered, the relationships lost, and the toll it took on all of our psyche’s was completely unbelievable.

In a journal written by the person most directly affected by the gaslighting, “(Husband) told me that I would have to take the girls and go to stay with my parents in (state) for an indefinite amount of time for our own protection. He said we could not tell anyone or it would put them in danger too. He also said that our house, cars, and phone were bugged. We were being monitored at that very moment. He said not to worry because we were being assigned a team to follow us and keep us protected. While we were gone he would be used as bait to pull in these bad guys and hopefully it would be over in a short amount of time. (Husband) said that he would be protected by 7 agents who were assigned to him and they would be constantly watching him. The leader of the group had a code name.”

This was the beginning of over 5 years of fear mongering, psychological manipulation, stealing from family members by manipulation through lying. The story will continue.
